When the weather is nice at the Oregon Coast in February, you stop what you’re doing and you GO. That’s just what we did while my mom was in town. We were blessed with beautiful blue bird skies, little to no wind, and 60+ degree weather at Cannon Beach the week she was here. We made a little day trip of it and met one of my friends and her kiddos out there, too. What a dream!
We met for a late lunch and then hit the sand. Apparently the tide was up really high earlier in the day, but we lucked out with a low tide after lunch. The kiddos really enjoyed playing in the huge tide pools. In their clothes. I brought Brady’s bathing suit, but didn’t end up changing him into it until after he was done getting filthy and we were headed back to the car- hah. Oops.
These are the memories that will stay with me as he gets older. I hope he’s able to remember some, as well. I’m such a scheduled, to-do list oriented person (I mean, I have to be – running my own business and working from home and studio with a little preschooler!) that it’s so freeing to throw in a spontaneous beach day!
Here are some photos from the dreamy day…
